Howdy! I’m Nancy, the doer of all things around here! As you can see from the picture, we never know which way we’re headed…and that’s perfectly fine! Life isn’t a straight line…we just take life as it comes; makes life more interesting! These are my 2 fur children, Miss Riley, the little "big" sister and Myla, the big "little" sister!

I am a lover of all things comfortable – and t shirts are a huge staple in my wardrobe! So, in 2018, I started this little business and it’s grown more than I could’ve ever imagined – with the help of my amazing family, fantastic friends, and loyal customers – who have now become more than just customers, they’re my family!

I’ve always been fascinated with oak trees, never really understood why, until I researched them a little more. It wasn’t because they’re beautiful and strong, there’s a much deeper meaning to them.  They symbolize wisdom, strength, and endurance – much like we do in life. We are faced with so many adversities in life, but we must face them head on with wisdom, strength, and endurance. 

An oak tree’s root system can be massive.  An acorn sprouts a tap root, which will go deep into the ground to find a sustainable water source.  I equate the tap root to my life as those family and friends that have always stood beside me and provided the nourishment I needed to succeed in life. They’ve helped me to grow in more ways than I can ever imagine. 

After a tap root is formed, an oak tree starts spreading its root system out laterally.  These roots often spread much farther than the widest parts of the treetop.  These lateral roots remind me of everyone I've encountered and every experience I've ever had, both good and bad. These roots help to provide stability in my life – it’s a sign of how everything I do, or say, molds me into the person that I am.   Everything, and everyone, we encounter in life helps to provide us a stable life – we learn from all of them, some good and some bad, but we learn – and it makes us who we are.   And that, my friends, is how Lateral Roots was born.
